Family Future Trends – The Future of Living Together
The topic of this research project is a current societal challenge: the encouragement of women and men to take advantage of their new freedom for the development of partner strategies and a well-balanced and cooperative living arrangement. Women are advancing with a graduate quota of over 50% in all areas of education and they know exactly what they want: a balanced life between family and career. According to international studies, men want the same. But how will this look in reality? This “fair share” concern affects us all and is far-reaching.
This study is funded by the Ministry for Health, Family and Youth and illuminates the female and male realities in the context of family. It is concerned with the setting in which certain household-model choices are made, wishes as opposed to actual realization of new ways of cohabitation and the respective assessment of their partners’ way of life.
